Hello room 31,
Haiku of the Week:
Dirty water sucks.
Help to make a difference.
Read these helpful tips.
The Haiku of the week might be confusing, but if you really think of it, it makes sense. It must feel terrible getting really sick because of water pollution due to them drinking polluted water almost every single day. Plus a plastic bag that gets lost in the wind end up in sea and trap animals. However, this can all change if people help out and spend a few minutes trying to prevent it. People may wonder how they can prevent water pollution, because they're one little person in a big world which is mostly water filled with over 1 MILLION pounds of garbage, but if you would read these helpful tips, it wouldn't be too hard.
The steps you can follow are as simple as putting ALL trash in the trash can, putting recycling in the recycling bin and put compost in the green bin. We can recycle; paper, plastic items, glass items, and cans of all sorts. Please note that some plastic items aren't recyclable , a tip for knowing what goes into the recycling bin is to look for the recycling symbol. We can put organics in the green bin such as: food waste, paper, decomposable shopping bags, tissues, and paper towels. Gum and other non-decomposable objects go in the garbage, sadly.
Thanks for reading! Remember to come back next week for new posts and videos!
